On 8th September 2018 a memorial for Nicky in the form of a “piano” park bench was unveiled by Nicky’s widow, Moira Hopkins, in the presence of the Mayor of Ealing in Perivale Park, Ealing, London, his birthplace.

The bench was crowdfunded via PledgeMusic and received so many pledges that a scholarship was created in Nicky's name at the Royal Academy of Music where Nicky himself studied.
